Also known as an end-of-life doula, end-of-life coach, and death midwife — a death Doula assists a dying person and their loved ones before, during, and after death. They provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support both to the dying person and their loved ones.
What makes a Jewish Death Doula different?
The work of a Jewish Death Doula is informed by Jewish wisdom, rich tradition, and rituals that a Jewish person may be inspired to incorporate into their end-of-life journey. While all Death Doulas serve a sacred and empathetic function, a Jewish Death Doula brings an added menu of intentional practices rooted in Jewish practice.
