Meditations on Mortality: Dress Rehearsal for Yom Kippur (Oct 3)

Join the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and Shomer Collective for two daily meditations on the themes of impermanence and endings as we transition into the New Year. Through engaging in Jewish wisdom and meditating on the utility of reflecting on death to live a life of greater meaning and connection, we will strive to experience the power of lessening fear around contemplating our own mortality.

The meditation on Monday, October 3, will be led by Rabbi Myriam Klotz, and on Tuesday, October 4 (the eve of Yom Kippur), by Rabbi Marc Margolius, members of the IJS Core Faculty.  Each meditation will take place from 12:30-1 pm ET, ending with an opportunity for mourners to recite the Mourner's Kaddish, and followed by a brief Q and A session with the leaders from 1-1:15 pm ET.

These sessions will be live streamed on the IJS YouTube channel, with recordings posted there as well. Alternatively, click here to receive the Zoom link and reminders for these sessions, which are part of ongoing series of daily meditations offered by IJS led by a variety of outstanding Jewish mindfulness meditation teachers.
